Live webcam on Monte Corno seen from Malga Malga Mazze Inferiore
This live webcam of Asiago.it offers a privileged view of Monte Corno (1383 m a.s.l.), one of the mountains that delimit the Asiago Plateau 7 Municipalities to the south, separating it from the plain.
The live view from the beautiful Malga Mazze Inferiore frames the southern slope of the mountain and the Monument to the Unknown Soldier, whose structure, with four intertwining concrete sails, was raised in 1970, in memory of the fallen in the partisan fighting that took place during the Second World War.
On Monte Corno there is also the Alpine Botanical Garden, with over 500 herbaceous, shrubby and arboreal species belonging to the subalpine and mountain flora, located on a stony-rocky promontory between two grazing areas.
Nearby there are the marble quarries and, on the top of the mountain, the rock formations called "rock cities", a spectacular excavation work by the water that percolates on the red ammonite rocks creating corridors between the large boulders.
In the nearby Piana di Granezza, moreover, there is one of the five English cemeteries existing on the Plateau, where 142 British fallen of the Great War are buried, and among the mixed beech and spruce woods you can visit a complex system of trenches that was placed to defend the north-western slopes of Monte Corno.
The Monte Corno area is therefore a destination for interesting excursions and for itineraries of taste to the alpine pastures, among which we recommend:
