On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July 2024, Gallio will host the second edition of "SU, IN MALGA!", an event that celebrates the authentic flavors and traditions of the Plateau of the 7 Municipalities, and which will see the participation of fifteen malghesi, producers of the renowned malga cheeses.

Exhibitors from the Gallio, Enego, Lusiana-Conco, Asiago and Lugo areas will be present. In detail, the 15 producers of cheese and dairy products are: Larici di sotto, Laste di Manazzo, Dosso di Sotto, Busafonda Campomulo, Meletta di dietro Lemerle, Meletta di mezzo Ristecco, I Lotto Valmaron, Verde, Biancoia, Montagna Nuova di dietro , Camporossignolo, Mazze Inferiore, Mazze superiori, Campo Est, Busette.

During the two days, participants will be able to explore an exhibition-market in the square full of dairy products, where mountain cheeses, produced following ancient traditions, will be the undisputed protagonists, with the possibility of tasting and buying.

But it will not only be a feast for the palate! The event will also include hands-on cheese-making demonstrations, allowing guests to see up close how fresh milk is transformed into delicious cheese.

In addition, "SU, IN MALGA!" will enrich the experience with themed conferences conducted by experts in the field, who will delve into various aspects of dairy production and life in the malga. 

And for children, educational and fun workshops will be organized, ideal for introducing them to the wonders of nature and agriculture.

Another highlight of the event will be the opportunity to participate in guided tours of the highland alpine pastures . Accompanied by expert guides, visitors will go on an excursion to the Plateau, to discover the breeding and cheese-making practices that make our territory unique.

"SU, IN MALGA!" is the perfect opportunity for those who want to connect with the cultural roots of the Asiago Plateau 7 Municipalities and for those who want to savor and take home an authentic piece of its rich gastronomic tradition.

THE PROGRAM OF UP IN MALGA! 2024

SATURDAY 27 JULY

• From 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.: Opening of the Malghe in the square 
   
• At 10.30 a.m. Piazza Italia: demonstration of milk processing in the square by Malga Busafonda
   
• From 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. Piazzetta VI Alpini: Cooking workshops for children "Delights in the malga" with preparation of a ricotta-scented snack by "Il Mondo di Bu". 2 groups are planned (16.00-17.00 and 17.30-18.30). Reservations required at the Tourist Office - tel.
   
• At 3.30 p.m. Sala Bartolomea (next to Bar Eckele): Tasting and competition among the cheeses present at the initiative by ONAF (ORG. NAZ. CHEESE TASTERS)
   
• At 8.30 pm at the Eckle Bar: Cheese and truffle tasting by Ferdinando Garavello. Participation for a fee (€ 25) with reservation required at the Eckele bar - tel.

SUNDAY 28 JULY

• From 10.00 to 18.00: Opening of the Malghe in the square 
   
• From 10.00 to 18.00 in Piazza del Popolo: Photographic exhibition (by the 7 Municipalities Photographic Club)
   
• From 10.00-12.00/14.30-18.30 in Piazzetta VI Alpini: Art workshops for children and animated readings by Consuelo Morello. The workshops are free to attend, without reservation. 
   
• From 5.30 pm to 6.00 pm: animated reading for everyone! 
   
• At 4.00 p.m. Bar Eckele: Guided tasting of MALGA CHEESES with Ferdinando Garavello. Participation for a fee (€ 20) with reservation required at the Eckele bar - tel.
   
• At 5.30 p.m. Central stage in Piazza Italia: Gigi Abriani tells the story of "Vita Ramenga". The photographer and author Gigi Abriani presents the books "Vita Ramenga" and "The guardian of the highlands" in the company of shepherds' stories.
   
• At 7.00 p.m. on the central stage of Piazza Italia: Closing of the 2nd edition of "SU, IN MALGA!" with awarding of the best malga cheeses by the Technical Jury and the Popular Jury. In case of bad weather, the award ceremony will take place at the Council Chamber.
