PATH FEATURES

The Path of the Gods is one of the seven gentle mobility routes proposed and curated by the Municipality of Enego, designed for families, trekkingenthusiasts, nature lovers, sportsmen and for anyone who wants to venture to discover the beauties of the territory on foot and enjoy the pleasure of walking in the peace of the Highland Nature.

Among these seven easy paths, the Path of the Gods is certainly the most mystical:the itinerary, in fact, enters magical places and with a strong spiritual charge, which since antiquity have been used as a place of worship to give thanks to the various pagan deities and, more recently, to God; the route then follows ancient communication routes and crosses what were once considered the "barns of Enego".

With an easy walk, the Path of the Gods will then guide you on the Col Bartàise to the"Temple of Trees",a circular"energy portal" consisting of carpini, twelve oaks and an ash tree, where you can breathe a magical air. The most daring can then reach the"Lasta del Tool",a stone slab overlooking the Valbrenta, considered by some to be the fourth altar of the Plateau, with ancient engravings still to be deciphered today.

Leaving behind the hill, the route will then descend to the Vélte, place name cimbro meaning"country",crossing the wide meadows caressed by the sun, once used for the cultivation of barley, wheat and more.

Finally, the route will go back to Enego for the mule track of the Piovega di Sotto, where it will seem to relive at every step the ancient times, when this represented one of the main communication routes to the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities.

HOW TO GET TO THE STARTING POINT

Theroute of the Path of the Gods has as its starting and finishing point St. Mark's Square,in the center of Enego.

This country is part of thePlateau of the Seven Municipalities,in the province of Vicenza, and is easily accessible by carfrom Asiago.
Starting from the center of Asia, we will proceed in the direction of Gaul, along Provincial Road 76. Crossing the country, you will continue to Foza and from here you will always continue along the SP76,following the directions to Enego.
The road will soon lead to the center of the village, passing through the famous Valgàdena Bridge, one of the highest viaducts in Italy and Europe, and the characteristic hamlet of Stoner.

Those arriving from Valsugana will be able to reach Enego by taking the SP76 Valgadena to thePrimolano-Asiago-Enego exit and then following the directions to Enego.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DOLCE FURNITURE ROUTE "PATH OF THE GODS"

The Path of the Gods starts at St. Mark's Square in Enego. With the Cathedral of Santa Giustina behind and the Scaligera Tower on the left, you will have to proceed with a gentle ascent to the south,to take via Blessed Murialdo and then descend quickly to the first houses of Via Valdifabbro.

At this point, you will have to abandon the main road and, holding the left, take the mule track which, with little effort, leads to the Col del Bartàise.

Once you reach the hill, among the green meadows, a short detour to the south will invite you to visit the"energy portal" of the Plateau:a circular grove consisting of black carpini, an ash tree and twelve oaks, where you can breathe a truly mystical atmosphere.
Here the subtle effects of planetary transits linked to this site are manifested, which is thus charged with spiritual energy. In 2014, with specific measurements, it was found that this place emits as many as 37,000 Bovis (units of measurement to quantify the subtle vibrations emanating from places, objects or living beings) day and night, throughout the year. This makes it one of only three portals in the world known with these features.

It is not surprising then that, near the portal, there is a place always used for the worship of deities, which only the most daring will be able to reach: it is the"Lasta del Tool",a stone slab overlooking the Valbrenta, with archaic engravings that have not yet been able to decipher. Some consider it the fourth altar of the Plateau, after theAltarknotto in Rotzo, theHanepos in Marcesina and the Spitzknotto in Stoccareddo.

Sentiero degli Dei Enego

After a contemplative break in these magical places, you will have to go back on your steps and then descend on the sweet pavement, passing first through the Géghe forest and then until you reach the Vélte (from the cimbro "vélt" i.e. "campaign").
Here it will be difficult not to be impressed by the beautiful landscape made of large fields, once used to grow cereals.

Continuing along the path, you will then arrive at the paved road that you follow to reach the church of Fosse di Mezzo.

Here you will finally have to take the ancient track of the Piovega di Sotto, a selciata mule track that connects the Brenta Canal to Enego, to return, with a last ascent,in the center of the village, at the foot of the Cathedral of Santa Giustina.
