With its 1700 meters above sea level, Malga Marcai is the highest of the mountain huts of the Alpe di Vezzena: a privileged position, a few kilometers from the border with the Asiago Plateau, which offers spectacular views and high-altitude pastures that extend up to 1850 meters, on the slopes of Pizzo di Levico.
Owned by the Municipality of Levico (TN), Malga Marcai was completely renovated in 2021. Managed by the Ninfea Agricultural Society, it is deeply linked to the production traditions of the Plateau of the 7 Municipalities, thanks to the production of the fine Asiago PDO cheese. In the hut you can also buy and taste other dairy products and cured meats, as well as tasty cold dishes, for a tasty break in the quiet of the mountain.
Reachable in about 26 minutes by car from Asiago, Malga Marcai is an ideal destination for those looking for an immersive experience between genuine flavors and unspoiled landscapes, in a border area that unites Trentino and the Plateau of the 7 Municipalities.
Alpine fauna is also the protagonist here: among the woods and pastures surrounding the hut it is possible to spot roe deer, deer, foxes, wild boars, hares and, with a little luck, the capercaillie.
